Retweet API | Programmatic Twitter Retweet

Retweet reposts a tweet on behalf of your own authenticated X account. It requires a registered X session, since the retweet belongs to a real account, and returns ok:true when recorded. Pass the tweet id or url as a query parameter. This is a write action billed at $0.0008 per call, the same as a standard read.

Pricing

Writes are billed at $0.0008 per call, the same as a standard read. A retweet that fails before reaching X is not billed.

Use it to repost content as your account, for example auto-retweeting your team's launch announcements.

Does Retweet need a session?

Yes. A retweet posts to your own X account, so you must register an X session first or the call returns session_required.

How do I undo a retweet?

Call Undo Retweet (tweet/unretweet) with the same tweet id or url to remove the repost.

Can I quote tweet through this endpoint?

No. This records a plain retweet. Quote tweets with added text are not part of this write action.
